Course Full Description: This course is an introduction to the Criminal Justice System in America. The goal of this course is to construct a broad knowledge of the criminal justice system and its response to crime in American society. An overview of principles of criminal procedure and criminological theory with emphasis on the role of law and those involved in its administration—police, courts and corrections organizations. It includes study of history, organization processes and problems related to law and justice agencies in a heterogeneous, democratic society.
Prerequisites: This course is reserved for students enrolled in the Finish@UT or UTEP BMS programs.
